Every winter, my mom’s skin would hit a breaking point.
She lives in the mountains, where the cold is relentless, and the air is bone-dry. Once the temperatures drop, the discomfort starts rolling in. Cracked hands that stung and bled. Legs that felt itchy, tight, and painful. And a neck and chest she described as suddenly looking wrinkly and tired overnight. Her words, not mine!
She wanted her skin to feel comfortable again, so she asked me what she could do to support her skin through another long winter.
That is when I set her up with a simple Honey Girl Organics routine designed to deeply nourish mature, winter-stressed skin.
For her hands, there was no question. Super Skin Food became her non-negotiable. She kept a jar by the sink, reapplied it to super-dry areas after washing her hands, and used it again before bed. Within a couple of weeks, she stopped mentioning the tiny cuts and painful cracks. Her hands felt soft again, and for the first time all winter, they no longer felt sore or fragile.
For her arms and legs, I gave her The Lotion. She used it right after showering and sometimes again before bed. She told me her skin finally felt comfortable. No more itchy, tight feeling. No more rough patches. She said the luminosity returned, and her skin looked healthy again rather than dull and dry. She also said her skin had never looked this healthy since moving to the mountains, which I, of course, loved to hear since this product is one of my year-round favorites!
The biggest surprise for her was her neck and chest. Those areas had been bothering her the most, especially with how uncomfortable her skin felt and how much more noticeable fine lines and wrinkles became as the cold and dryness set in. She started using the Rose C Serum once or twice a day, mainly after bathing while her skin was still slightly damp. Within weeks, she said her skin looked smoother and more even.
This is one of my favorite ways to use either the Rose C Serum or the HoneyGlo Regenerating Face Serum. Bringing your serum down to the neck and chest matters. These areas have thinner skin and need just as much care and attention as your face. If you have been forgetting this step in your routine, consider this your reminder. Always use your serums in upward strokes including your chest and neck!
What I love most about this routine is how simple it is. No complicated steps. No harsh ingredients. Just deeply nourishing, organic care that supports mature skin exactly where it needs it most.
Watching my mom feel comfortable and confident in her skin again was everything. And if you are dealing with dry, cracked, irritated winter skin as your skin matures (or truly any age), this routine really works. Sometimes the right care does more than improve how your skin looks. It changes how you feel in your body all season long!
With love,
Ashley and Honey Girl Organics
