USDA Organic Certification
In today's health and environmentally conscious society there is great demand for clean skin care. Since 2006, Honey Girl Organics has provided a healthier skin care alternative. Our facility is organically certified by the certifying agency Where Food Comes From Organic. We meet all the criteria set forth by the USDA to handle, package, and sell organic certified skin care.

What does organic really mean? Organic means that all our ingredients are grown without the use of any pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, genetically modified organisms, sewage sludge, or ionizing radiation. All USDA certified organic products are also non-GMO because genetic engineering is not permitted.
The USDA National Organic Program (NOP) defines organic as follows:
- Organic is a labeling term that indicates that the food or other agricultural product has been produced through approved methods. The organic standards describe the specific requirements that must be verified by a USDA-accredited certifying agent before products can be labeled USDA organic.
- Overall, organic operations must demonstrate that they are protecting natural resources, conserving biodiversity, and using only approved substances. Synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, irradiation, and genetic engineering may not be used.
- The organic standards are captured in the Organic Food Production Act, USDA organic regulations, and the National Organic Program Handbook.
Occasionally people confuse certified organic products as being the same as all natural products. While all-natural products may not contain any additives or preservatives, it does not mean that they are organic. They can be all-natural but contain ingredients that are not grown or produced organically.
Becoming certified organic is not an easy task. Our facility must pass a yearly site inspection and maintain strict and accurate monitoring of all of the organic ingredients and finished products to maintain our certification. We must keep current records of all received and shipped organic merchandise. Current records of the organic farmers must be kept as well. Special designated areas at our manufacturing facility are used to store our products. In addition, special packaging equipment is used specifically for our organic products to ensure that no cross contamination with non-organic products occurs.
