Start with your skin’s current behavior, sensitivity, preferred finish, and climate - not only a broad skin-type label.
Original is the signature Honey Girl Organics experience and is suited to a wide range of skin types. It combines beehive ingredients, olive oil, and aromatic essential oils.
Extra Sensitive preserves the core HGO moisture and barrier-supporting experience without essential oils. It is designed for customers who are especially scent-sensitive or reactive.
Rose offers a lighter skin feel with rose hydrosol and a broader selection of botanical oils, like argan, marula, and prickly pear. It can be especially appealing to dry, dehydrated, or maturing skin—and to anyone who prefers moisture without a heavy finish.
Yes. The lines are designed to help guide your selection, not restrict your routine. For example, you may prefer an Extra Sensitive cleanser, Rose Toner, and Original Face & Eye Crème.
Pay attention to how your skin responds and introduce unfamiliar products gradually rather than changing your entire routine at once.
A simple three-step routine gives most customers a useful foundation: cleanse, follow with toner, and finish with moisturizer. A serum, mask, or exfoliant can then be added according to your goals rather than used automatically.
The Skin Match Tool recommends one cleanser, one toner, and one moisturizer designed to work together.
It can, but product choice and amount matter. Skin may produce oil while still feeling dehydrated, and some customers prefer a very small amount of a lighter cream or serum rather than avoiding moisture entirely.
Begin sparingly, watch how your skin responds, and avoid assuming that the richest HGO formula will be the best fit for every oil-prone complexion.
The Extra Sensitive line is the clearest starting point because it is made without essential oils. It still includes HGO’s signature moisture-supporting beehive ingredients and olive oil.
Sensitive skin is individual, so review the full ingredient list and patch test any unfamiliar formula before broader use.
Yes. HGO offers sample sets containing small portions of selected facial and body products. Sample sizes are intended to help you experience texture, scent, and general compatibility before committing to a full-size product.
Sample packs are final sale. Visit the Samples collection for current options.
Organic & Ingredients
Eligible personal care products and certified handling operations must meet applicable USDA National Organic Program requirements for ingredients, processing, documentation, labeling, traceability, and inspection.
Honey Girl Organics is independently certified by a USDA-accredited certifying agent. Learn more on our USDA Organic Certification page.
Certification applies to specific products included within the certified scope. Many HGO products qualify to display the USDA Organic seal, while others contain substantial organic content but fall into a different labeling category.
Check the individual product label and current ingredient information, or verify HGO through the current certificate and USDA Organic Integrity Database.
No. “Natural” does not prove that a finished product or manufacturing operation has passed independent USDA organic certification.
USDA certification connects the organic claim to a regulated standard, an accredited certifier, documentation, inspection, traceability, and controlled seal use.
Most HGO formulas are not vegan because they contain beehive ingredients such as honey, beeswax, propolis, bee pollen, or royal jelly.
These ingredients are central to HGO’s origin and formulation philosophy. Review each product’s ingredient list for exact composition.
HGO does not use synthetic fragrance to perfume its traditional formulas. Aromatic products receive their scent from ingredients such as essential oils, hydrosols, and the natural materials within the formula.
Customers avoiding essential oils should begin with the Extra Sensitive line and still review the complete ingredient list before use.
Each beehive ingredient contributes something different. Honey supports moisture attraction and softness; beeswax helps give creams structure and a moisture-sealing feel; bee pollen and royal jelly bring a nutrient-rich origin; and propolis connects the formulas to the hive’s naturally protective resin.
Explore the ingredient family on the Our Ingredients page.
Product Care & Freshness
Store products at room temperature in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Do not refrigerate HGO creams.
Keeping products below approximately 75°F whenever practical can help protect their texture and freshness.
HGO generally recommends using products within six months after opening for the best experience. Unopened products are generally expected to remain fresh for approximately 12–18 months from the batch date.
Actual longevity depends on storage, temperature, packaging, and whether clean, dry hands or a clean spatula are used.
Dipping wet or unclean fingers into a jar can introduce moisture, residue, and microorganisms. Using clean, dry hands or a clean spatula helps protect the formula during its open life.
Avoid adding water directly to a product jar unless the directions specifically instruct you to do so.
Occasional separation can occur in concentrated formulas made without conventional synthetic emulsifiers or stabilizers. For most cream jars, stir gently with a clean spatula. For bottles, shake well to recombine.
Do not stir Night Crème, Night Crème Extra Sensitive, Super Skin Food, Foot Balm, Cuticle & Nail Crème, or Mom & Baby Butter. Contact HGO if the product has an unusual odor, visible contamination, or a change that concerns you.
HGO uses agricultural and beehive ingredients whose natural color, aroma, and texture can vary with harvest, season, growing conditions, and floral source.
Minor variation does not necessarily mean the formula has changed. It reflects the natural character of minimally processed ingredients.
Look for the batch code on the bottom of the jar or bottle. HGO batch codes beginning with “H” include date information used to trace production.
Because coding formats can change, contact HGO Customer Service with the complete code for the most reliable date confirmation.
Using Honey Girl Organics
Begin with a very small amount. HGO creams are concentrated, so using more does not necessarily improve the result.
Warm a small dab between clean fingertips, press or massage it into slightly damp skin, and add more only where needed.
The most common reason is applying too much. Reduce the amount substantially and apply it to slightly damp skin so it spreads more easily.
If the formula still feels too rich, a lighter product—such as a Rose moisturizer or serum—may better match your skin, climate, or preferred finish.
Many HGO moisturizers and serums spread especially well over clean, slightly damp skin. Moisture on the skin helps a concentrated amount cover more evenly and can reduce the temptation to overapply.
Cleanse first, follow with toner or mist, then apply serum and moisturizer while the skin still feels lightly hydrated—not dripping wet.
A practical HGO order is: cleanser, toner or mist, serum, then moisturizer. Apply outdoor-care products or a properly tested broad-spectrum sunscreen last during the daytime.
Weekly masks and scrubs should be treated as additions to the routine rather than daily steps.
Both are more intensive than a daily cleanser. Begin by using them on separate days and leave several days between treatments while you learn how your skin responds.
Use the Facial Scrub with light pressure. More friction does not create a better exfoliation result and may be uncomfortable for sensitive skin.
Yes. Use a small amount and allow the product to absorb before applying makeup. Applying too much rich skincare immediately beneath makeup may cause slipping or an overly dewy finish.
Adjust the amount according to your skin, climate, makeup formula, and desired finish.
Sensitivities & Special Use
Yes - especially if your skin is reactive or you have known sensitivities. Natural and organic ingredients can still cause individual reactions.
Apply a small amount to a limited area and observe it before expanding use. Stop using the product if persistent discomfort or an unexpected reaction develops.
Many HGO products contain honey, beeswax, pollen, propolis, royal jelly, or naturally occurring traces of hive materials. Someone with a known bee-product allergy should review the full ingredient list and consult an appropriate healthcare professional before use.
Do not assume topical compatibility based only on whether you can eat honey.
Pregnancy and nursing can change scent tolerance and skin sensitivity. The Extra Sensitive line contains no essential oils and may be a simpler starting point.
Because every pregnancy and medical history is different, review the complete ingredient list with your physician or qualified prenatal healthcare professional before introducing unfamiliar products.
Yes. Honey Girl Organics products are gluten-free and are labeled accordingly. The formulas are made without gluten-containing ingredients. Customers can review the current ingredient list on each product label or product page.
HGO seeks ingredient documentation where available, but customers with celiac disease or significant sensitivity should contact HGO about the specific product and consult their healthcare professional as needed.
HGO cosmetics are intended to cleanse, condition, moisturize, exfoliate, and support healthy-looking skin. They are not drugs and are not presented as treatments or cures for medical skin conditions.
Persistent inflammation, pain, infection, severe acne, or a diagnosed skin condition should be discussed with a qualified medical professional.
The HGO Protect Stick contains 20% non-nano zinc oxide and is designed to provide targeted physical coverage and barrier-supporting care. HGO does not assign the product an SPF or broad-spectrum rating. SPF primarily measures protection against UVB-related sunburn, while UVA protection requires separate broad-spectrum testing. The Protect Stick does not carry a tested SPF or broad-spectrum claim.
Ingredient transparency helps customers make informed choices, but it cannot predict every sensitivity. Review each product’s current ingredient list and seek professional guidance for allergy, pregnancy, medication, or medical-condition concerns.
