We met Leilani on the beach. She’d just come in from surfing head-high waves with her sister Malia and friend Elena. She was glowing. There’s just something about dropping into a 6ft wave that gets your blood-pumping, energy flowing, and positive vibes radiating. Lucky for us, we captured the moment. A friend snapped a pic of Leilani and the girls and we ended up posting it on April 2, 2016 --Honey Girl Organics' 10 year anniversary. It so perfectly expressed our excitement and aloha for making it to this extraordinary milestone.
2 years have gone by, and Leilani’s still glowing. Yes, she’s still shredding the North Shore, she’ll always be a surfer girl. Now she’s a Honey Girl too! When we found out Leilani was just as skilled behind the camera as in front of it, we invited her to intern for us. Wasn’t long before she took over our social media channels and well, that’s why we look so dang pretty. (If you’re curious, -- yes of course we hired her on!)
Over these last 2 years Leilani’s completed a study-abroad program in Prague, bounced all over Europe, made new friends, got promoted to HGO’s Social Media Coordinator, rocked a side-biz selling recycled threads, all-the-while keeping her grades up and her spirits high!
And, now we’re celebrating another milestone. This time it’s about our Honey Girl Leilani-- we’re proud to announce Leilani is an official graduate of the University of Hawaii! She earned her BA in Communications with a specialization in Social Media Marketing. (We know how to pick em ;) Her tenacity, skills and long hours of studying have paid off.
Leilani's ready to write the next chapter and everyone at HGO is thrilled to have her part of our team! Exciting things are happening at Honey Girl Organics and Leilani's passion for green beauty, sharp eye and keen sense of style fits right in. We asked Leilani to share her thoughts about HGO's Brand Refresh and what products are her must-haves!
"It's been great fun to be part of the HGO Ohana; the excitement about our brand refresh has been building! Our new logo is just perfect and the new labels are so fresh and clean. The best part though is that everything inside the jar remains the same! I wouldn't want it any other way. I love the simplicity and purity of the ingredients. My all-time favorite is the Facial Toner. It feels so refreshing- I use it morning and night to tone my skin and maintain its proper pH balance. When the weather gets humid- (which is often) I tuck it in my purse and use it throughout the day to lightly cleanse. It has a unique scent, fresh and light."
"The After Sun Face & Body Lotion is another one of my must-haves, especially during the summer months. After long days on the beach, it's essential that I hydrate and nourish my skin. My skin drinks this up! Feels good knowing I'm giving it the best skin care there is!
