We understand that choosing an organic skincare company comes with a lot of curiosity, and we’re always thrilled to hear from our customers!
As we move deeper into 2025, we wanted to dedicate some time to answering the most frequently asked questions from last year. Think of this as your go-to FAQ blog where we recap the questions we hear most and even share insights straight from one of our founders, Anthony Maxfield.

The answer might surprise you. We often hear from customers who assume our products need to be refrigerated, due to their natural and organic ingredients.
However, that’s not the case! We recommend storing all Honey Girl Organics products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Additionally, be mindful of temperature, as high heat can accelerate the aging and breakdown of our natural formulations. For the best experience, aim to keep your skincare below 75°F whenever possible.

You might also wonder, “Why does it say to handle with clean fingers or a spatula?”
This is because our products do not contain synthetic preservatives. Using clean fingers or a clean spatula helps prevent contamination.
If you apply immediately after washing your hands, ensure they’re fully dry before dipping into the jar, as moisture can introduce bacteria to the product.

“What about the product’s shelf life?” When you shop from our site directly, you’ll receive the freshest products possible!
After opening, we recommend using them within six months for the best experience. Unopened, they remain fresh for 12 to 18 months from the batch date.
With proper care, like following the advice of using clean fingers or spatulas and storing properly, you can extend their use up to a year after opening.

Here’s a unique question we love addressing: “What should I do if my cream looks like it’s separating?”
We’ll let Anthony handle this one: “It does separate occasionally. And we simply say, get a paddle and stir it back in gently! We’re proud that that oil separates because what proves to our customers is that there are no chemical emulsifiers in there. While emulsifiers are great for keeping the product together, you need to question what it does to your skin, and the answer is, it’s a toxic ingredient. Which is why what you’re going to find in our product is only things that the skin can use. That’s what’s in there. That’s what we do at Honey Girl Organics!”
This natural separation is a testament to the purity of our products, so don’t worry if it happens - just stir it gently, and you’re good to go!

We hope this answers some of the questions you’ve been curious about! If you still have questions, or need some personalized guidance, please feel free to contact our team via the website; we’re here to help with anything from product recommendations to tips for best use.
Stay glowing!
Aloha,
Ashley and the Honey Girl Organics team
