Winter Skincare: Layering

Winter Skincare: Layering

Winter is upon us. Whether you're spending these cooler months with your toes in the sand like we are, or you've got your boots deep in the icy snow like so many of our friends, there's one thing we all have in common – the season's dreaded effects on our skin.

Regardless of where we are this winter, we can all be adding more steps to our daily beauty regimens to keep our complexions bright and radiant year-round.

Layering

Dry winter air often leads to dull, flaky skin. Just like you would add an extra layer of clothing to lock in heat and protect your body, you should also add more layers of product to lock in moisture and protect your skin.

Enter: layering.

While adding even more skincare to your daily routine may seem daunting, it's actually effortless, and we will be the first to tell you that the results speak for themselves. In fact, as a rule of thumb, less is more, and quality trumps quantity.

Glow wherever you are this season with our winter skincare layering guide.

Layer 1: Cleanser

Cleansers can be abrasive, drying out the skin and causing inflammation and other problems, especially in the winter. While washing your face is always important, you don't want to overdo it.

Avoid excess drying and irritation by opting for an oil or cream-based cleanser during this time of year. We recommend our Facial Cleanser & Makeup Remover. Not only will it break down cosmetics and stubborn build-up, but it will also stimulate your skin by adding vitamins and minerals.

Layer 2: Facial Scrub

Exfoliation in moderation. Your new winter skincare mantra. Add a mild exfoliant to your routine no more than 3x per week to rid the skin of dead cells and promote regrowth.

Our 100% organic Facial Scrub is made with finely granulated cane sugar and diatomaceous earth to gently exfoliate while coconut oil, aloe butter, and raw Hawaiian honey moisturize and soothe the skin.

Layer 3: Serum

Once you have cleansed and exfoliated, apply a lightweight, nutrient-rich serum. This extra layer maximizes hydration without adding thickness.

Our HoneyGlo Regenerating Serum replenishes the skin with a unique blend of 5 organic plant-based oils to help promote collagen production and cellular renewal for more supple skin and a beautiful, healthy glow.

Layer 4: Moisturizer

After applying your serum, add a layer of moisturizing cream to seal nutrients and lock in hydration.

Selecting the right product for your skin type is essential for this step. Those with oil-prone skin should opt for a lighter moisturizer, while those with a dryer texture should choose a thicker cream.
