From the very beginning, our belief has been simple: skincare should be as safe, clean, and nourishing as the food you put in your body. That philosophy continues to guide every product we create today.
Honey Girl Organics officially launched in 2006, but our story began years earlier in Hawai’i. Founders Anthony Maxfield, Gwen Maxfield, and Christina Sirlin were living a wellness-focused lifestyle and searching for truly gentle, chemical-free skincare. At the same time, Anthony had taken up beekeeping, working closely with honey and beeswax in their most raw, natural forms.
Cuticle & Nail Crème: The First Creation
What started as curiosity quickly turned into something more. A small kitchen became a skincare laboratory. Honey, beeswax, and nourishing oils were blended, tested, refined, and tested again. The first product was the Cuticle & Nail Crème, created to restore dry, irritated hands and nails. Friends and family were among the first to try it and the feedback was clear: skin felt calmer, softer, and healthier.

By 2006, Honey Girl Organics was officially born. The name was inspired by island culture, where “honey girl” is a term of warmth, affection, and care. It reflected exactly what we wanted our products to feel like on the skin: comforting, nurturing, and naturally beautiful.
As the brand grew, our standards only became stronger. In 2011, Honey Girl Organics earned USDA Organic certification, reinforcing our commitment to ingredient integrity and transparency. We formulate, manufacture, and produce in small batches to ensure freshness and quality, maintaining control over every step of the process.
Our formulas are built around nature’s most powerful skin allies: organic honey, beeswax, botanical oils, and plant extracts chosen for their ability to support the skin’s natural barrier, hydration, and renewal. These ingredients are intentionally kept in their natural forms so the skin can recognize and benefit from them fully.
Over the years, Honey Girl Organics has grown from a small family operation into a trusted clean skincare brand found in hundreds of stores nationwide, including Whole Foods Market and other wellness-focused retailers.
