Skincare in your 20s

You would think that teenage acne and breakouts will pass in your 20s. For many, this is not the case, and they continue to experience adult acne. Other issues are sun damage and dry spots.

With so many life changes during this decade, there are several factors that play a huge role in how your skin looks and feels, like the stress of everyday life, poor diet, UV exposure, and pollution.

Creating a skincare routine in your 20s is of utmost importance and will make a huge impact on how your skin will look later in life.

HGO Solutions

Choosing a simple skincare routine that is easy and effective can be achieved by using products full of antioxidant benefits that address both external and internal issues. The overall goal is to use products that protect against environmental stressors and to detoxify the skin:

Cleanse & Tone: ensure removal of all dirt, grime, makeup and pollution by double cleansing with the Facial Cleanser & Makeup Remover + Foaming Facial Wash. It’s important to cleanse skin both AM & PM – your skin will thank you!

Exfoliate & Treat: Once a week, properly deep clean your skin without stripping it from its natural oils. The Facial Scrub will gently exfoliate dead skin cells and create a clean slate for the Rejuvenating Mask to deeply penetrate your skin. The mask will help add needed antioxidants, vitamins and minerals to your skin.

Moisturize & Protect: Probably the most important step is to use the correct moisturizer for your skin type, and stick to it! Choose an antioxidant-rich serum or moisturizer that seals in hydration while protecting it. Top off with an environmental protector like our Protect stick.

Skincare in your 30s and 40s

Your 30s is when you really start to see the changes in your skin. This is the time to start your preventive skincare.

The first signs of aging like fine lines and a dull or dehydrated complexion are common. In addition, collagen production and cell turnover slow down and you can visibly see that your skin doesn’t bounce back like it used to.

The results of your 20s really start showing up in your 30s. Too many days in the sun show up as sunspots or hyperpigmentation. And if you did not start your skincare routine in your 20s, the signs of aging caused by damaging free radicals will be showing up more dramatically as fine lines and drier skin. The result of your diet in your 20s also plays a huge impact on your skin in your 30s. Some people also experience hormones being an issue. The daily stress, environment, and diet are all part of how your skin feels in your 30s and 40s.

HGO Solutions

Overall you want to boost collagen production and increase cell turnover, plus creating a holistic approach to your self-care routine, that also addresses how you feel on the inside. Stress is your biggest enemy during this time, and finding tools that can help with the daily stress factors will be critical for your skin and overall health.

Cleanse & Exfoliate: Cleanse your skin morning and evening. Your skin might feel drier, so an oil-based cleanser can be beneficial. We recommend adding exfoliating more frequently to ensure removal of dead skin cells. Using a toner will also help brighten a dull complexion. In addition, it brings that extra hydration your skin needs.

Treat: Your skin needs more targeted treatments to address the first signs of aging. We highly recommend using a vitamin C serum to help combat free radicals. If your skin is on the drier side, the HoneyGlo Rejuvenating Serum will be your secret weapon in creating a glowing complexion.

Protect: Add an antioxidant-rich moisturizer that also targets the fine lines around your eyes with the Face & Eye Crème and Night Crème. During the day, ensure to wear a sun protector like our Protect stick. And – make sure to protect your lips with a moisturizing Lip Balm Stick.

On the inside: hydration is key, and ensuring you drink enough water is important. A healthy diet and added supplements can help your skin be at its best.

Skincare in your 50s, 60s and beyond

By now, you might be experiencing more of those fine lines and wrinkles, drier, thinner and more sensitive skin, it might start to look crepey and loose as collagen and elastin levels lower. Depending on your preventive and corrective care in earlier years, you might be dealing with dark spots and uneven skin tone.

HGO Solutions

Cleanse & Exfoliate: Cleanse your skin both morning and evening with a nutrient-dense oil-based cleanser and exfoliate twice a week with the Facial Scrub. Always use a toner on clean skin. The Rose Toner is excellent for drier skin types.

Treat: Be consistent with your serums! Apply both AM and PM under your moisturizer.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize: After your treatment serum, ensure you moisturize. This will be your most important step. Many people start experiencing some sensitivities during this stage of life, and the HGO Extra Sensitive line can help with this. We recommend using the Face & Eye Crème in the morning over your serum, and the Night Crème in the evening. A secret tip: add a few drops of the Rose C Serum to top over your moisturizer to create an extra layer of protection. Lip Balm is essential, to help keep those fine lines around the mouth at bay. And never leave the house without the Protect stick ;)

We also recommend a rich Body Crème or lotion for your entire body. Your hands especially will need more moisture and protection.

We hope you find your perfect HGO skincare regimen! And remember - you can always contact our customer service team for advice on what products to choose!
