Ingredients Intel
Honey
Honey has been known for centuries to heal wounds and treat infection. It is antioxidant, antibiotic, antiviral and contains anti-inflammatory properties. When water is combined with honey, hydrogen peroxide is released in small amounts over time so that the antibiotic effect on your skin works slowly and very gently, making it ideal for sensitive skin. This helps greatly to reduce blemishes and pimples. Honey also stimulates collagen production, which is very important in the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. Known also for its antioxidant properties, honey is a free-radical scavenger- it neutralizes damaging free radicals at the molecular level. Honey is also a humectant (it attracts and retains moisture), and acts as an anti-irritant thus removing dirt and impurities without stripping the skin of natural oils. It contains minerals, vitamins, and natural enzymes, which nourish skin and help to refine skin texture.
Diatomaceous Earth
Diatomaceous earth is the fossilized remains of marine phytoplankton; made of mostly silica, an important trace element, which promotes healthy bones, teeth, skin, tendons, blood vessels, nails, and hair. Used as an exfoliant, due to its ability to remove dead skin cells polluted by toxins.
French Green Clay
French green clay is an organic material made of multiple essential minerals, such as manganese, silica, selenium, phosphorous, magnesium, zinc and calcium. It also contains iron oxides and decomposed plant material such as kelp or seaweed. French green clay is beneficial in removing impurities and tightening pores, as it pulls bacteria and toxins to the surface of the skin and absorbs them. It increases circulation, exfoliating dead skin cells to revel a smooth, toned and fresh complexion.
Hawaiian Blue Green Algae
Hawaiian blue green algae are a microscopic algae that grows naturally in fresh water ponds and lakes. It has been used as a food source for centuries and is the most complete naturally cultivated nutrient in the world. Blue green algae is compatible with the skin’s natural properties making it easily absorbable. Due to its high protein and fatty acid content, the amino acids present in both nutrients are essential in rejuvenating the skin, helping to firm and tone the complexion. It also contains chlorophyll, which cleanses impurities and hydrates the skin. Vitamin E, selenium and tyrosine are present in blue green algae and help to fight free radicals, increase cell turnover, and cleanse the skin.
Propolis Extract
Propolis is a resinous mixture honey bees produce by gathering resins from tree buds and sap flows and is mixed with saliva and beeswax. It’s used to seal unwanted open spaces, coat the hive entrance, walls and honeycomb. Helps prevents diseases and parasites from entering the hive as well as inhibiting fungal and bacterial growth. Worker bees use propolis to sterilize comb where their queen will lay her eggs. We create our own propolis extract in-house from our holistically managed beehives.
Propolis also called ‘nature’s penicillin’ or nature’s antibiotic, rejuvenates skin by disabling viruses and fighting infections. It is rich in nutrition and has natural antibiotic properties that have recently been rediscovered by scientists. Containing an abundance of minerals which support rebuilding damaged skin cells. Propolis has been used for hundreds of years for multiple medical purposes, since it is antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anesthetic, contains antioxidants and regenerative properties. It will assist in balancing, healing and soothing problematic skin. It also accelerates the rate of cell growth and decongests pores.
