You may be asking yourself, “How long can I keep my Honey Girl products?” and we are here to help you make the best judgement by explaining our process more in depth.
Just like you want to purchase the freshest produce from the grocery store, it’s important to do the same with your skin care and other cosmetic products. We recommend using our products within 6 months after opening because this is when our ingredients are at their best, peak performance and provide the most beneficial effects even though our products can sit unopened for 12-18 months and still be in great shape.
Did you know that one of the biggest ways we help preserve our ingredients is through our packaging? The specific packaging we use prevents light from breaking down our ingredients. Another important factor is the preservatives we use. Our USDA certified organic honey and our non-GMO vitamin E (derived from sunflower seeds) are totally natural to ensure you aren’t putting any harsh chemicals or artificial preservatives into your skin. We pride ourselves in providing clean skincare for everyone, even if this means the shelf life of our products is a bit shorter than the rest.
Now, what can you do to help ensure that your products maintain their freshness during this time? The way you handle your products plays a role in the product's lifespan. If possible, be sure to keep the products at room temperature away from direct sunlight and heat and always use clean fingers and/or spatulas. If you find that your product has an unusual smell or if you see mold or discoloration, do not be alarmed; our natural formulas are delicate and can be affected by exposure to air and other contaminants. These instances are rare, and we will be happy to replace your product if necessary.
