With the holidays rapidly approaching, I decided to visit my family for some much needed time together. For those who don’t know, I am originally from Orlando, Florida and since I live on Oahu, I rarely get time to see my family. This trip was special because I had the opportunity to visit my sister in college with my mom. One of the things I love about skincare is that it is such a nice way to unwind and relax with friends and family while also practicing some good old self care. I decided to bring a few of my Honey Girl favorites to share with my family so they could get introduced to a few products and needless to say it was a success! After traveling on the plane all day combined with a 3 hour road trip, my skin was ready to be pampered. As soon as we got to my sister’s dorm, I decided to dive right in and show my sister and mom the Honey Girl magic.
Since my sister is just starting out in college, keeping up with a skincare routine is a relatively new concept to her. I wanted to introduce her to a routine that would be easy to maintain especially since college can often be busy and stressful. We brought all the products to the bathroom and decided to dive right in. The first product we tried out was the Facial Scrub. This was perfect because it helps exfoliate the skin while also nourishing it at the same time. She was so surprised with how soft her skin felt after the fact and it was nice to see that my mom enjoyed it too. We had music playing and it felt like old times when we used to have makeup parties in our room as kids.
After that, I showed them both the Rejuvenating Face Mask. They were pleasantly surprised with how much they could smell the honey in the product! This is one of my favorites because it really does a good job of drawing out impurities while stimulating collagen production. As we were waiting for it to dry, we were able to catch up and “talk story”. It was crazy to see how much had changed in our lives while also feeling like no time had passed at all. It’s harder to keep in touch the older we get so it was so nice to be able to take a few minutes to relax and connect with one another. One of the things I value most in life is time well spent with the people that I care for and it was so great to be able to do that and also show them a big part of my life which is Honey Girl.
After about 15 minutes, we washed off the mask and finished up with the Facial Toner. To my surprise, neither of them had used a toner before so it was an experience for everyone. I told them that this was a perfect way to finish off your skincare routine especially when it comes to maintaining hydration. We all have very dry skin so it’s important to keep the moisture locked in. My sister was expressing to me that she had issues with makeup separating on her skin and I was able to give her the Face & Eye Cream to apply before her makeup as well as giving her the other products for a hydrating skincare routine.
It was so nice being able to catch up with my family while also being able to help them with their skincare needs. While we may be far apart, something as small as using Honey Girl was still able to bring us together. I told them to keep me updated with how their skin is doing so I can help them more along the way and also use it as a way to keep in touch.
